AVID

We are an AVID School                                            

The AVID program at George Middle school is has phenomenal student leaders. From our 8th grade AVID leaders who serve as role models in school for organization will represent AVID at our school functions to our phenomenal AVID tutors who serve as tutors during AVID class tutorials and utilize the skills and questioning of a college student. Here at George, AVID is more than an elective, it is a community and way of representing ourselves as role models and striving achievers.

What is AVID?

Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a global nonprofit organization that operates with one guiding principle: Hold students accountable to the highest standards, provide academic and social support, and they will rise to the challenge. AVID’s kindergarten through higher education system brings research-based curriculum and strategies to students each day that develop critical thinking, Literacy and Math skills across all content areas.
